Activities include horseback riding\, ATV riding\, clay shooting\, archery\, a live quail and pheasant hunt in Nebraska\, and more! All meals and boarding are provided.  \nThis camp is a joint effort between Pheasants Forever and Youth Challenge \nAdditional Information \n\nLimited to 14 youth.\nAll youth must be accompanied by a guardian ($75/guardian).\nCosts include all meals and lodging from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch.\nWe have room for 40 people in dormitories.\nCamping is available for $10/night and includes electrical hook-up.\nThe $225 registration fee helps pay for food\, dorm\, cost of fuel for ATV\, feed for horses\, ammo\, clays\, etc.\nSunday’s Nebraska pheasant hunt requires an additional fee of $45 to pay for required youth licenses and habitat stamps.  Hunter’s safety required. Please note\, this is a youth only hunting weekend in Nebraska.  Adults cannot hunt.\nYou will need a sleeping bag and pillow\, good hunting or hiking shoes for pheasant hunt\, proper clothing for the weather\, and towel and wash cloth.

Campers will sleep in our quaint cabins\, just a hop\, skip\, and a jump from the Main Lodge. Each cabin has 5 bunk beds\, a propane heater\, and a dresser for each camper. The Lodge houses our bathrooms\, dining hall\, Bear Room\, and administrative offices. Campers will have the opportunity to take a shower during the camp session. Each cabin is under the supervision of a Cal-Wood staff member and Counselor-in-training (CIT). Homemade\, nutritious meals are served in our dining hall\, while our Bear Room provides an indoor space for the whole camp in case of inclement weather.

This camp is definitely for the outdoor enthusiast– learn and practice outdoor skills that will last you a lifetime. Hike and explore in the mountains\, learn how to fish by fly and reel\, shoot a bow and arrow\, identify tracks\, and do some trap shooting. You’ll have a chance to learn about careers in the great outdoors alongside actual outdoor professionals. Join us for the most memorable week of your summer with friends new and old in the mountains of Cal-Wood. \nWhat Do We Do At Camp?  \ntrap shooting\, archery\, orienteering\, fly/rod and reel fishing\, tracking\, conservation ethic \nThis camp is for:\n12-15 year old outdoorsmen\, hunters\, fishers\, archers\, camouflage lovers\, wildlife biologists\, tree climbers. \nCamp Life:\nThis camp is based at Cal-Wood’s headquarters. Campers will sleep in our quaint cabins\, just a hop\, skip\, and a jump from the Main Lodge. Each cabin has 5 bunk beds\, a propane heater\, and a dresser for each camper. The Lodge houses our bathrooms\, dining hall\, Bear Room\, and administrative offices. Campers will have the opportunity to take a shower during the camp session. Each cabin is under the supervision of a Cal-Wood staff member and Counselor-in-training (CIT). Homemade\, nutritious meals are served in our dining hall\, while our Bear Room provides an indoor space for the whole camp in case of inclement weather. \nREGISTER HERE

DESCRIPTION:Northern Colorado Pheasants Forever invites youth to participate in an educational and fun day outdoors. \nThe day begins with archery\, 22 rifle shooting\, shotgun shooting at clay targets and a pheasant hunt. \nWhile PF volunteers plant pheasants\, each Youth and his or her parent is paired off with a PF Mentor with a trained pointing dog. These are successful and most participants leave with big grins and a few birds for their first experience. \nWho: Youth 9 to 17 years old.\nWhen: April 2\, 2016\, 8:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.\nWhere: We Provide: \nLunch\, 12 & 20 gauge shotgun shells\, safety glasses\, ear protection\, and HUNTER ORANGE hats & vests. Also\, a shotgun if needed (mark on registration form). \nYou Bring: Hunter Education Card\, water and a camera. Cooler and ice for any pheasant you get\, to keep them cool for the trip home. \nPlease Wear: Appropriate clothing\, e.g. warm clothes\, gloves\, boots. \nCost: $5.00 for each youth. This price includes lunch.
