The Northern Colorado Chapter prides itself on providing a completely complementary hunt for our veterans each year! These men and women deserve so much more but at least this is a start! In 2024, our Veteran hunt was held Dec. 6th through the 8th near Amherst, Colorado where 12 veterans were treated to a wild bird hunt alongside our dedicated volunteers and their dogs. It was a particularly dry and hot few days, but they still managed to down a few birds!
On 12-16-17 the Colorado Veterans Alliance and NOCOPF conducted a Veterans Pheasant hunt, north of Otis, Colorado.
We send our thanks to the Matt Allacker Family, for the use of their shed, to serve our meal of cooked hamburgers and hotdogs, to all involved in the hunt.
After lunch we shot several rounds of clays. We wish to thank the following people and their dogs for the use of their time with this great event: Jim Kern, Doug and Kim Foore, Don Greer, Doc Charlie Mizushima, and Dalton Barthlama. We spent much time learning how to hunt as a group, walk slowly, stop once in awhile, and how to pivot. We saw many birds but were unable to harvest any. We decided this will be an annual event.
Some of the pictures from this event are posted below. May you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
